Many of you may remember me as Nicholas James, a pseudonym adopted to comply with the philosophy of my former employer, Metro Networks, through whom I became associated with many of my AM91 colleagues when they were affiliated with KWBI, and I had the pleasure of doing their traffic reports.
I’m a Minnesota native, with Norske parents and grandparents. I came to Colorado in 1978 to attend college, graduating with a degree in music from the University of Colorado at Denver. My wife Dawn, a Colorado native, grew up in Longmont. My grandparents lived in small Midwestern farming communities. Both Dawn and I appreciate rural surroundings. We have two shelties that give us wonderful companionship. My initial college pursuits included teaching. The thought of a small college campus was appealing to me, particularly an older campus, with some history. I like history.
After 15 years in news and information on Denver radio and television, I had developed a desire for an affiliation with an organization with meaning…to do something that would benefit others. The Lord opened the opportunity to join the AM91 team in 2006.
Today I am blessed with the best of all worlds. I work from a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located on a beautiful campus, steeped in the rich Christian heritage of Bishop Alma White and the Pillar of Fire Ministry.
I am a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where I have the honor of serving on church committees from time to time. I have the blessing of being a part of this local Christian ministry with the dedicated AM91 staff of Christian professionals, and I have the privilege of meeting you on the air Monday through Friday around the breakfast table and in the afternoons. It’s a joy to serve you. Thank you for supporting AM91.
